Stamford Christmas Festival Thank You!
Published: 04 December 2018
Stamford Town Council is pleased to record that this year’s
Stamford Christmas Festival (Sunday 25th November) was the most
successful to date with the largest attendance yet and with a year-on-year increase
in traders participating. The Town Council is solely responsible for the
organisation and implementation of this popular annual event and successfully
faces the ever-present challenge to keep it cost neutral so that none of the
associated costs fall upon Stamford rate-payers. With no increase in the cost
of stall and pitch sites this year, and with nearly 100 stalls and pitches
reserved by traders, the accruing revenue covered the associated mandatory
charges including road closures, health and safety measures and the provision
of entertainments during the event. Anyone wishing to see a breakdown of the

A huge thank you is due to the faithful band of volunteers who worked so hard to ensure this year’s success and most especially to the hundreds of Stamford residents and visitors who thronged the streets and so enthusiastically supported stall holders, traders and local businesses alike. Stamford Town Council looks forward to welcoming you all back in 2019 for yet another spectacular start to our local Christmas festivities.
