About the Council

When recommendations are made to the full Council, sometimes members of the Town Council are appointed to research and consult with professional bodies on a number of matters and then report back to the relevant committee. These smaller appointed groups are often called working groups and they meet on an ad-hoc basis.

Councillor Vacancies on Stamford Town Council

The recent Local Elections resulted in four vacancies in the following Wards:


* All Saints North
* All Saints South
* St. George’s
* St. Johns.


Residents of the Parish of Stamford wishing to be considered for Co-Option should send their details,
with a short resumé, to the Town Clerk, Patricia Stuart-Mogg by Wednesday 15 May 2019 latest. Please

Hill, Stamford PE9 2DR.


Stamford Town Council is the first tier of local government with its responsibilities widening as
Government Policies of ‘localism’ decentralise power. If you wish to improve your community and
Stamford do come forward and join Stamford Town Council. Should you wish to discuss the above

Tuesday 21 May at 7pm in the Town Council Chamber at Stamford Town Hall.
